Checkingdrivelock-outonaslope
Ifyouareunsurewhethertheanglesettingofyour
wheelchairiswithinthesaferangewhendrivingonaslope,
dothefollowing:
1.Stopthewheelchairandswitchtoadjustmodeand
backtodrivemode.
2.Startdriving.
Ifthetotalangleisoutsideofthesaferange,the
drivelock-outwillinhibitdriving.Adjusttheangleas
describedbelow.
Adjustingthetotalangletoallowdriving
1.Reducetheseatangleand/orthebackrestangletoset
thetotalangletoavaluewithinthesaferange.
2.Startdriving.
Ifthetotalangleiswithinthesaferange,thewheelchair
moves.
6.9UseonPublicRoads
Ifyouwishtouseyourmobilitydeviceonpublicroadsand
lightingisrequiredbynationallegislation,thenyourmobility
deviceneedstobettedwithanappropriatelightingsystem.
ContactyourInvacareproviderifyouhaveanyquestions.
6.10Pushingthemobilitydeviceinfreewheel
mode
Themotorsofthemobilitydeviceareequippedwith
automaticbrakes,preventingthatthemobilitydevicestarts
rollingoutofcontrolwhentheremoteisswitchedoff.When
pushingthemobilitydevicemanuallywhilstfreewheeling,
themagneticbrakesmustbedisengaged.
Pushingthemobilitydevicebyhandmayrequire
morephysicalforcethanexpected(morethan100
N).Thenecessaryforceneverthelesscomplieswith
therequirementsofISO7176-14.
Theintendeduseofthefreewheelmodeisto
maneuverthemobilitydeviceovershortdistances.
Thepushhandlesorpushbarssupportthisfunction,
butbeawarethattheremightbesomeimpairment
betweenthefeetoftheassistantandtherearpart
ofthemobilitydevice.
6.10.1Disengagingmotors(conventionalmotors)
