8.6ReplacingtheLegActuators
Thisprocedureshouldonlybeperformedbya
qualiedtechnician.
IfthelegsAofthepatientliftdonotopenand
closeproperly,itmaybenecessarytoreplaceoneor
bothofthelegactuators.
1.Testtheoperationofthelegs:
•Presstheclosebuttononthehandcontroltoclose
thelegs.
•Presstheopenbuttononthehandcontroltoopen
thelegs.
2.WhileholdingontothemasthandlesB,carefullytip
thepatientliftbackuntilitrestsontheoor .
Itisnecessarytoremovebothsmallbasecovers
DbeforeremovingthelargebasecoverF.
3.RemovethesixteenscrewsCthatattachthesmallbase
coverstothebase.
4.RemovetheeightpanheadscrewsEthatattachthe
largebasecovertothebase.
Iftheleftortherightlegofthepatientliftdoes
notoperateproperly,performthefollowing
stepsonthesideofthebasenecessaryto
replacetheactuator.Ifbothlegsdonotoperate
properly,performthisreplacementprocedureon
bothsidesofthebase.
5.Locateanddisconnectthelegactuatorleadwires.
Theactuatorleadwireswillbevisibleafterthe
largebasecoverisremoved.
6.Removethesocketheadscrewandwasherthatattach
thelegactuatortothebase.
7.Attheotherendoftheactuator,removethesocket
headscrewandnutthatattachthelegactuatortothe
legbracket.
8.Ifnecessary,repeatSTEPS5-7ontheoppositesideof
thebasetoremovetheotherlegactuator .
