3.2 The Base Station Unit
The Base Station is the wireless interface between the ICC ‐2W and the Camera Processor Unit. It is
mountedonthepoleormastarmnearesttheTrafficControlCa binet.Itshouldbesitedsuch thatthere
isclearlineofsightbetweentheBaseStationandeachofthe
Cameras.
3.2.1 Base Station Unit Mounting
The physical Base Station mounting is done using the mounting bracket provided. The Base Station
should be banded to the luminaire arm or can be mounted on the mast arm using a suitable bracket.
TheBaseStation shouldbemountedtothepoleclosesttotheTrafficControlCabinet.
Itshouldbesited
suchthatthereis aclearlineofsightbetweentheBaseStationandeachoftheCameras.
Note:Thereshould beaminimumdistanceof3’(1meter)betweentheBaseStationandeitherofthe
Cameras.This is necessary insituationswherethe BaseStation
and Camera are bothmounted on the
poleclosesttotheTrafficControlCabinet
TheBaseStationcanbemountedeitherhorizontallyorvertically,seeFigures3.2.1(a)and(b).Oncethe
Base Station is mounted and wiring completed the cap assembly should be turned so the antenna is
pointingdirectly
up.
