MAINTENANCE AND RECOMMENDATIONS FOR USE
It is advisable following installaon of the
air-condioner, to carry out a general check, making sure that the bolts
that fasten the compressor group in place with the relave brackets are
ghtened.
, check the tension of the O.E. compressor belt:
if it is worn, replace it with another of the same type.
The smooth operaon of the condioning system depends on regular
maintenance.
The maintenance of the supplied system runs alongside that of the
O.E. system. Here is some general informaon along with some more
specic details, but reference should be made to the indicaons in the
vehicle maintenance book.
During the operaon of the condioning system, it is advisable to keep
the doors and windows of the vehicle closed.
Avoid leaving the condioning system idle for too long, acvang
it at least even during the winter, as
its operaon guarantees the lubricaon of some components which
would tend to dry out if le inacve for a long me.
check the O.E. condenser baery and, if necessary, clean it
using compressed air, taking care not to damage the aluminium ns.
Insects can deposit on the ns, along with u and other bodies that
will reduce the eciency of the heat exchangers.
When working near the heat exchangers, take care not to cut
yourself on the sharp ends of the ns.
At the same me, it is advisable to check the operaon of the electric
fans on the condenser.
When acvang the AC funcon, the electric fans of the condenser are
acvated. Their speed is variable depending on the pressure inside the
circuit.
Remember that the cleaning of the condenser and the check that
the fans are working properly are extremely important operaons.
A very dirty or incorrectly venlated condenser not only reduces the
performance of the condioning system, but can also shorten the life of
the compressor or even cause it - or its electromagnec joint - to break.
When cleaning the system, protect the electrical components.
The supplied system uses the coolant of the vehicles O.E. circuit.
It is advisable to check that there is
sucient coolant in the system. A lack of coolant usually causes a drop
in performance. The check can be carried out by connecng a "lling
staon" and checking the pressure. If there is a severe lack of coolant,
before relling it is necessary to locate the point where the leak has
occurred and repair it. In this case, it is also advisable to check the level
of lubricant in the compressor and top it up if necessary.
, inspect every component of the system,
including the electrical components, to make sure that there are no
anomalies.
