16. Adjusng the Needle Height with Cylinder Tool
Tools required: Flat screwdriver, #3 x 150 mm in length,
needle-height cylinder tool.
Check:
Turn the hand wheel in the direcon of moon unl
the hook point becomes even with the right side of
the needle as shown in (Figure 16.1). The hook point
should be 1.0 mm above the needle eye. If the height
of the needle appears to be out, install the loop li
clamp and 2.2 mm feeler gauge as shown in the
adjustment of loop li and needle distance secon.
Check loop li. If the machine requires a loop li
adjustment, remove the stop-nger and hook body
from the machine. Follow the steps below using the
Needle Height Cylinder tool (part number QM40131).

This adjustment can be completed with the front
frame cover on or o.
The height of the needle must be set from the front
side of the machine as shown. The eye of the needle
must align exactly to the groove as shown in (Figure
16.6 on page 29).
1. Install the cylinder tool with the at side up.

2. Rotate the cylinder tool so that the at side is down.

3. Bring the needle to the lowest point by rotang the
hand wheel (Figure 16.4).
