Adjustment Procedure
Results of Improper Adjustment
Checking items:

Motor screw

Motor gear

Piston gear

Cylinder screw

Cylinder

Piston lip
* The backlash between motor gear
and piston gear
is approxi-
mately 0 to 0.5 mm.
* Check to be sure that piston lip
and cylinder
smoothly slide. If
not, abnormal noise can be produced.
How to perform adjustment:
Adjusting the backlash
1. Loosen motor screw
.
2. Press motor gear
against piston gear
.
Adjust the backlash between them to approximately 0 to 0.5 mm.
Carefully prevent a partial increase in torque which can occur in the
case the motor is excessively pressed against the piston gear.
3. Tighten motor screw
.
At this time, place the ground wire so that its orientation is as shown
in the gure.
Applying grease to the piston lip
1. Remove three cylinder screws
. Remove cylinder
.
2. Spray grease lightly to the periphery of piston lip
.
If the lip periphery has a damage, replace it with a new one.
3. Mount cylinder
with three cylinder screws
.
If the backlash is larger than the
standard adjustment value, abnor-
mal noise can be caused.
Increase in torque which occur
the case the motor is excessively
pressed against the piston gear can
result in threading failure and motor
heating.
If the piston lip periphery is not
applied with an adequate amount of
grease, an increase in the operat-
ing resistance of the cylinder can
increase causes the air pressure
reduction, resulting in threading
failure.
If the amount of grease is exces-
sive, grease can be mixed into the
air in the cylinder to cause thread to
be stained with grease.
