5.1 Prior to decommissioning
Procedure
• Thoroughly clean the truck.
WARNING!
Faulty brakes can cause accidents
Test the brakes immediately as soon as the truck has been commissioned.

Report any defects immediately to your supervisor.

Tag out and decommission a faulty lift truck.
u
Only return the truck to service when you have identified and rectified the fault.
Test the brakes.
• Check the hydraulic oil level and replenish if necessary, see page 54.
• Apply a thin layer of oil or grease to any non-painted mechanical components.
• Lubricate the truck according to the lubrication schedule, see page 54.
• Charge the battery, see page 29.
• Disconnect the battery, clean it and grease the terminals.

In addition, follow the battery manufacturer’s instructions.
• Spay all exposed electrical contacts with a suitable contact spray.
5.2 During decommissioning
NOTICE
Full discharge can damage the battery
Self-discharge can cause the battery to fully discharge. Full discharge shortens the
useful life of the battery.

Charge the battery at least every 2 months.
