5 Battery removal and installation
WARNING!
Accident risk during battery removal and installation
Due to the battery weight and acid there is a risk of trapping or burning when the
battery is removed and installed.
u
Note the "Safety regulations for handling acid batteries" section in this chapter.

Wear safety shoes when removing and installing the battery.
u
Use only batteries with insulated cells and terminal connectors.
u
Park the truck on a level surface to prevent the battery from sliding out.
u
Make sure the battery is located securely in the truck's battery compartment.

Requirements
Park the truck on a level surface.
Park the truck securely, see page 41.
Expose the battery, see page 28.
Procedure
Undo the terminal screws (35) and pull the battery cable off the terminals.
Lift out the battery.
The battery is now removed.

Installation is in the reverse order. When reinstalling the battery, note the proper
installation position and make sure the battery is connected correctly.
