switches, the EX Series Redundant Power System (RPS), and the XRE200 External Roung Engine.
This topic describes the EMC requirements for these hardware devices.

This Class A digital apparatus complies with Canadian ICES-003.

The Industry Canada label idenes cered equipment. This cercaon means that the equipment
meets certain telecommunicaons network protecve, operaonal, and safety requirements. Industry
Canada does not guarantee the equipment will operate to the userssasfacon.
Before installing this equipment, users should ensure that it is permissible to connect the equipment to
the facilies of the local telecommunicaons company. The equipment must also be installed using an
acceptable method of connecon. In some cases, the inside wiring associated with a single line
individual service can be extended by means of a cered connector assembly. The customer should be
aware that compliance with the above condions might not prevent degradaon of service in some
situaons.
Repairs to cered equipment should be made by an authorized Canadian maintenance facility
designated by the supplier. Any repairs or alteraons made by the user to this equipment, or equipment
malfuncons, might give the telecommunicaons company cause to request the user to disconnect the
equipment.
CAUTION: Users should not aempt to make electrical ground connecons by
themselves, but should contact the appropriate inspecon authority or an electrician, as
appropriate.
Users should ensure for their own protecon that the electrical ground connecons of the power ulity,
telephone lines, and internal metallic water pipe system, if present, are connected together. This
precauon might be parcularly important in rural areas.
