6 Tighten the locknut and measure the clearance again. Tight‐
ening torque 24 Nm (212 in-lb).
7 Use the barring tool to rotate the crankshaft 360 degrees.
8 Use the previous steps and specifications to set the valve lash
on the following rocker levers:
(E = exhaust, I = intake)
Four-cylinder 2E, 3I, 4E and 4I
Six-cylinder 2E, 3I, 4E, 5I, 6I and 6E.
9 If the measurements are out of specification, set the valve
lash.
Install
1 Install the rocker lever cover over the mounting capscrews.
2 Install the isolators and mounting nuts.
3 Tighten the mounting nuts. Tightening torque 24 Nm (212 in-
lb).
