1 Introduction

Intended Use
The digital cameras of the Flight Eye series are multi-chrome industrial cameras for digital image processing
for usage in the aviation industry. They should be used solely for the purpose described in this manual.
Any use other than those specified under "Intended Use" or any misuse will be considered improper and will
void the warranty and exclude any liability of the manufacturer.
The operation, maintenance and service instructions described in this operating
manual and the operating instructions of the components involved must be
observed.
Foreseeable Misuse
In particular, the following uses of a Camera Sensor Unit (CSU) and Camera Electronic Unit (CEU) are not
permitted:
 Operating the CSU and CEU in an explosive atmosphere.
 Operating the CSU and CEU in an area exposed to vibrations beyond the certification.
 Furthermore, all possible fields of applications not listed in chapter 1.1.
Warranty
The device supplied by us has been carefully designed and manufactured. Prior to delivery, it was subjected
to a thorough inspection.
We therefore warrant compliance with the applicable safety regulations, solid workmanship and flawless
functionality.
Duration and conditions of warranty are governed by the general terms of delivery of Kappa optronics
GmbH, or in the purchase agreement.
Provided no other agreements have been made in writing, the following provisions shall apply:
Duration and conditions of the warranty does not cover natural wear or defects caused by improper
handling, inappropriate use or failure to observe the operating manual.
Specifically, the manufacturer can only be held responsible for function and safety-relevant properties if and
when any service performed on the device, exceeding those tasks described in the operation manual, has
been performed exclusively by the manufacturer or its expressly authorized representative.
