Term Description
Sensor A sensor amplifier
Scanner The EtherNet/IP scanner device
Adaptor The EtherNet/IP adaptor device
Main unit
A sensor amplifier that has a power line and can operate
alone
Expansion unit
A sensor amplifier that does not have a power line and must
be connected to a main unit
D-bus
The name of KEYENCE's wiring-saving system for sensor
amplifiers
Supports GT2 Series high-accuracy digital contact sensors
and others
PLC Programmable logic controller
Ladder program A program which controls the PLC
