Overview

The Keysight N6705C DC Power Analyzer is a versatile, multi-functional power system that integrates the capabilities of a multiple-output DC voltage source with waveform and data capture features typically found in oscilloscopes and data loggers. This instrument is designed for professional use in electromagnetic environments outside of the home, offering a comprehensive solution for power analysis.

Function Description:

The N6705C serves as both a power source and a measurement system. As a DC source, it provides up to four configurable outputs, with power modules ranging from 20 W to 500 W. These modules offer various voltage and current combinations and can operate as either constant voltage (CV) or constant current (CC) sources. A key feature is its arbitrary (Arb) waveform generation capability, allowing users to program predefined or custom voltage and current waveforms. Keysight N678xA Source/Measure Units (SMUs) further enhance this by offering multiple-quadrant power mesh with distinct voltage and current priority source modes.

As a measurement system, the N6705C offers several views:

  • Meter View: Displays average output voltage and current in real-time.
  • Scope View: Shows voltage and/or current waveforms of all outputs simultaneously, with adjustable vertical and horizontal controls and markers for calculated measurements.
  • Data Logger View: Measures and charts average and peak voltage and current over extended periods, also with adjustable markers.
  • Arbitrary Waveform Preview: Provides a visual representation of configured arbitrary waveforms.
