4 Instrument Markings and Regulatory Information
The EPUP for Keysight products has been determined to be 40 years, excepting separately
identified subassemblies sold by SPO which may use 5 or 10 years. (The item categories which
reflect a shorter EPUP are specified in the affected toxic substance tables and include items such
as batteries which are recognized as having a shorter life.) For items not manufactured by
Keysight, such as batteries, computers, displays, and other support items, the EPUP number
reflected on the product may vary based on the determination of the manufacturer of the item.
These variations do not impact the EPUP number applied to the Keysight product level, nor are
they an issue in cases where the addendum reflects a different number; these topics are
addressed in the addendum disclaimer statements.
South Korean Certification (KC) mark; includes the marking's identifier code which follows this
format:
MSIP-REM-YYY-ZZZZ.
This symbol indicates separate collection for electrical and electronic equipment, mandated
under EU law as of August 13, 2005,. All electric and electronic equipment are required to be
separated from normal waste for disposal (Reference WEEE Directive, 2002/96/EC).
The packaging mark is set up as a single label; the graphics are available on the Keysight
Industrial Design web site. A suggested method for marking existing inventory is to obtain a
rubber stamp reflecting the same mark as an interim solution until the artwork changes can be
finalized with the packaging suppliers and reflects the following mark (which is applicable to all
primary and secondary packaging). Solid wood packaging (i.e. wood crates) requires no
additional marking.
