Row Unit Operation
QUICK ADJUSTABLE DOWN FORCE SPRINGS OPTION (STANDARD OR HEAVY DUTY)
Standard and heavy duty quick adjustable down force springs are available in increase penetration in hard soil and
keep row unit from bouncing in rough field conditions. Two springs per row, one on each side parallel arms, are used
unless equipped with row unit mounted no till coulters. Row unit mounted no till coulters require four springs per row.
1. Raise planter and remove spring mount pin at top of spring.
2. Slide mount to desired position and install pin.
NOTE: Adjust springs for field conditions. Too much down pressure in hard field conditions can cause
row units to lift planter and keep drive wheels from making contact. Too much down pressure in soft field
conditions can cause row unit to run too deep.
There are four positions to set down pressure spring tension.
