Stationary fuel pumps
In order to avoid damage in the fuel system, only refuel from stationary
fuel pumps.
► Fuel from barrels or cans is usually contaminated and causes
increased engine wear.
► Contaminated fuel leads to malfunctions in the fuel system and
reduced effectiveness of the fuel filters.
If refueling from barrels cannot be avoided, note the following
points:
• Barrels must neither be rolled nor tilted before refuelling.
• Protect the suction pipe of the barrel pump with a fine-mesh strainer.
• Immerse the suction pipe of the barrel pump down to a max. 15 cm
(5.9 in) above the bottom of the barrel.
• Only fill the tank using refueling aids (funnels or filler pipes) with an
integral microfilter.
• Keep all refuelling containers clean at all times.
