6.3.2 Shear bolt
 For use with horizontal beaters only:
The PTO driveline has a shear bolt assembly for
overload protection. If the PTO spins free during
operation, the bolt has sheared. Replace the
sheared bolt with a new one of the same diameter,
length, and grade. The bolt should shear on non-
threaded portion. Using a bolt of different
specifications than recommended may cause
damage to the machine.
Kuhn North America, Inc. does not recommend or
authorize PTO adapters.
Shear bolt size:
2044 - 5/16’’ x 2’’ Grade 5 (540 RPM)
2044 - 5/16’’ x 2’’ Grade 5 (1000 RPM)
2054 - 5/16’’ x 2’’ Grade 5 (1000 RPM)

dimensions
Shearbolt assembly must always be installed on
spreader input shaft. It is important to have the
PTO shaft completely secure on the tractor PTO
with the lock collar fully engaged.
