6.5 Operation checklist
Check for proper assembly, adjustment,
and lubrication
Check that all nuts and bolts are sufficiently
tightened. Oil all roller chains. Review all operating
safety precautions and lubrication instructions
before operating the machine.
Do not operate until shields are in place
Repair or replace any damaged or missing
shielding.
Check for obstructions
Before loading the spreader, be sure the hydraulic
endgate is closed and there are no obstructions in
the beaters.
Be sure no one is on, inside, or near the
spreader
Vertical beater tooth bolts should be checked
after the first few loads and re-torqued if
necessary. Torque should be checked on a
monthly basis.
Always perform the safety shutdown
procedure before servicing, repairing, or
cleaning the machine.
Be sure all safety shields are in place before
operating, including tractor PTO and
driveline shields. Exposed machinery, due to
missing shielding, can cause severe injury or
death.
Be sure the inside of the spreader is clear of
any obstructions before operating.
