6. - Putting into service

6.6 Test run the spreader
1. Raise and lower the hydraulic endgate several
times.
2. With the spreader empty and the hydraulic endgate
raised, start the apron and beaters.
3. Operate the pusher from the front to the back of the
spreader several times.
4. Run for at least five minutes. Operate at the rated
540 or 1000 RPM spreader input shaft speed.
5. Disengage the PTO, turn off the tractor engine, and
remove the driveline.
6. Check the drive components to be sure they are not
abnormally hot.
NEVER allow anyone to position themselves
over or near the top, or near the discharge
area of the spreader while it is running. Doing
so can cause serious injury or death.
Never put arms or feet inside unit, or
discharge opening, nor climb on or in the
spreader while it is running. Doing so can
cause serious injury or death.
If any of these items are not running as
indicated, immediately repair or contact your
service representative. Always refer to the
safety instructions before operating or
servicing the machine.
