Endgate swinging debris guard:
Check the endgate swinging debris guard for
mobility. The rubber curtain of deflectors installed
on the inside of the endgate should hang vertically
when the endgate is in the raised position. Free the
deflectors if they become trapped.
Inspect roller chains:
Check for wear, proper alignment, and tension.
Adjust or replace if necessary. When reassembling,
the roller chain connector links must have the legs
of the cotter pins or the legs of the retaining clip
trailing the direction of chain travel.
Inspect and adjust roller chain tighteners:
Apply sufficient tension to keep roller chains running
smoothly. The chain will form grooves in the
tightener blocks. These grooves help to keep the
chains in proper alignment. The blocks should not
be turned unless the roller portion of the chain has
worn into the block.
If welding is required on this unit, do not
allow the electrical current to flow through
the bearings. Ground the welder directly to
the part being welded.
