1. From the Home screen, press Menu (center softkey) > Messaging.
2. Press Options (left softkey) > Emergency Alerts.
Emergency Alert Settings
1. From the Home screen, press Menu (center softkey) > Messaging.
2. Press Options (left softkey) > Emergency Alerts > Options (left softkey) >
Settings.
3. Configure the following settings:
● Emergency Alerts: Check the box next to the type of Emergency Alert you wish to
receive.
 EMERGENCY ALERT/ALERT D’URGENCE to deliver a national emergency
alert. EMERGENCY ALERT/ALERT D’URGENCE is always grayed out (not
selectable) and cannot be excluded.
 Extreme Alert to deliver emergency alerts in an extreme emergency situation
(an extraordinary threat to life or property).
 Severe Alert to deliver emergency alerts in a severe emergency situation (a
significant threat to life or property).
 Amber Alert to deliver alerts related to missing or endangered children.
 WPAS Test Alert to receive emergency alert test messages.
● Notifications:
 Notifications: Select On to display a notification when an alert is received.
 Sound: Select On to play a notification sound when an emergency alert is
received.
 Vibrate: Select On to vibrate the phone when an emergency alert is received.
 Alert reminder: Sets how often your phone alerts you.
 Emergency notification preview: Select to play a sample emergency alert
tone.
 Speak alert message: Select On to use the text-to-speech feature when an
alert is received.
