U196 Turning the fixing heater on
Description
Turns the fixing heater M or S on.
Purpose
To check fixing heaters turning on.
Method
1. Enter the maintenance mode and press the or key to display "U196".

[U196] Heater ON
2. Press the key to display the submenu screen.
3. Press the or key to select the heater to turn on.
Display Description
Main Heater ON Fixing heater M (FH-M)
Sub Heater ON Fixing heater S (FH-S)
4. Press the ENTER key. "Execute" will be displayed and the heater will be turned on for three seconds.
Note
Do not open or close the cover when the heater is on. Either do not turn on the heater continuously.

5. To turn off the heater, press the ENTER key or the CANCEL key.
U198 Setting the fixing phase control
Description
Sets the use of fixing phase control to reduce electrical noise generated.
Purpose
Normally no change is necessary. If electrical noise generated by the machine causes flickering of the lights
around the machine, select fixing phase control to reduces the noise.
Method
1. Enter the maintenance mode and press the or key to display "U198".
2. Press the ENTER key. "?" will be displayed.
3. Press the or key to select on or off.
>Phase Control
[U198]? Off
4. Press the ENTER key. The setting is set.
To keep the preset value, press the CANCEL key.
