5.2.5 Replace the Gearbox Oil
• Requirements:

Collection container (minimum capacity: 3 liters)
• GX85-W140 transmission oil or equivalent
• Funnel
An incorrect quantity of oil will cause overheating and permanent damage to
the gearbox.
1. Clean the area around the drain plug.
2. Put the collection container underneath gearbox A.
3. Remove the drain plug from gearbox A and allow the oil to flow into the
collection container.
4. Remove the cap from the top hole.
5. Remove the fill plug from gearbox A.
6. When all the oil is out of the gearbox, install the drain plug in gearbox
A.
7. Install a funnel in the fill hole of gearbox A (fig. 26, page 5-7).
8. Fill gearbox A with 2.3 l of GX85-W140 transmission oil or equivalent.
9. Remove the funnel.
10. Install the cap on the top hole.
11. Install the fill plug in gearbox A.
12. Put the collection container underneath gearbox B.
13. Remove the drain plug from gearbox B and allow the oil to flow into the
collection container.
14. When all the oil is out of the gearbox, install the drain plug in gearbox
B.
15. Remove the fill plug from gearbox B.
16. Fill gearbox B with 0.85 l of GX85-W140 transmission oil or equivalent.
17. Install the fill plug in gearbox B.
18. Remove the collection container from the area and dispose of the
drained oil as specified by local regulations.
