AccessConnectionsisaconnectivityassistantprogramforcreatingandmanaginglocationproles.Each
locationprolestoresallthenetworkandInternetcongurationsettingsneededforconnectingtoanetwork
infrastructurefromaspeciclocationsuchasahomeoranofce.
Byswitchingbetweenlocationprolesasyoumoveyourcomputerfromplacetoplace,youcanquicklyand
easilyconnecttoanetworkwithnoneedtorecongureyoursettingsmanuallyandrestartthecomputer
eachtime.
ActiveProtectionSystem
TheActiveProtectionSystemprotectsyourharddiskdrivewhentheshocksensorinsideyourcomputer
detectsaconditionthatcoulddamagethedrive,suchassystemtilt,excessivevibration,orshock.Thehard
diskdriveislessvulnerabletodamagewhenitisnotoperating;sothesystemstopsitfromspinning,and
mayalsomovetheread/writeheadsofthedrivetoareasthatdonotcontaindata.Assoonastheshock
sensorsensesthattheenvironmentisstableagain(minimalchangeinsystemtilt,vibration,orshock),it
turnstheharddiskdriveon.
