AccessConnections,aconnectivityassistantprogram,caneasilyenableonenetworkadapteranddisable
theotheradaptersondemand.Aftersettingupyourwirelessnetworkingconnection,youcanusethe
programtoquicklyswitchthenetworksettings.
UsingwirelessWANconnections
WirelessWideAreaNetwork(wirelessWAN)enablesyoutoestablishwirelessconnectionsoverremote
publicorprivatenetworks.Theseconnectionscanbemaintainedoveralargegeographicalarea,suchas
acityoranentirecountry,byuseofmultipleantennasitesorsatellitesystemsmaintainedbywireless
serviceproviders.
SomeThinkPadnotebookscomewithabuilt-inwirelessWANcardintegratingsomewirelessWAN
technologies,suchas1xEV-DO,HSPA,3GorGPRS.YoucanconnecttotheInternetoryourcompany
networkwiththebuilt-inwirelessWANcardandthecongurationutilitytomakeawirelessWANconnection
andmonitoritsstatus.
