TheRMM3isakindofadd-oncardwhichoffersconvenient,remoteKVM(keyboard,video,andmouse)
accessandcontrolthroughtheLANorInternet.Itcaptures,digitizes,andcompressesvideosandtransmits
thevideoswithkeyboardandmousesignalstoandfromaremotecomputer.YoucanusetheRMM3to
gainlocation-independentremoteaccesstorespondtocriticalincidentsandtoundertakenecessary
maintenance.Inaddition,theRMM3offersintegratedremotepowermanagementusingintelligentplatform
managementinterface(IPMI).Therefore,workingasanintegratedsolutioninyourserver,theRMM3provides
anincreasedlevelofmanageabilityoverthebasicservermanagementavailabletothesystemboard.

ToinstalltheRMM3,dothefollowing:
Attention:Electrostaticdischarge(ESD)candamagetheRMM3.Alwaysgroundyourselfanduseaground
strapbeforetouchingtheoption.PerformthefollowingprocedureatanESD-safeworkstation.
1.Removeallmediafromthedrivesandturnoffallattacheddevicesandtheserver.Then,disconnectall
powercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedtotheserver.Wait
threetoveminutestolettheservercoolbeforeremovingtheservercover.
2.Removetheservercover.See“Removingtheservercover”onpage23.
