CAUTION:
Theheatsinkandmicroprocessormightbeveryhot.Turnofftheserverandwaitthreeto
veminutestolettheservercoolbeforeremovingtheservercover.
Foroptimalperformance,followthesemicroprocessorinstallationrules:
1.Whentwomicroprocessorsareinstalled,bothmusthavethesamecorevoltageandcorespeed.
2.Whenonlyonemicroprocessorisinstalled,itmustbeinthemicroprocessor1socket.Theother
socketmustbeempty.
3.Alwaysinstallthemicroprocessorrstintothemicroprocessor1socket,andtheninstallanother
microprocessorintothemicroprocessor2socketifyouwanttoinstalltwomicroprocessors.
Toinstallthemicroprocessor,dothefollowing:
1.Removeallmediafromthedrivesandturnoffallattacheddevicesandtheserver.Then,disconnectall
powercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedtotheserver.
2.Removetheservercover.See“Removingtheservercover”onpage23.
3.Laytheserveronitssideforeasieroperation.
