Hazardousmovingparts.Keepngersandotherbodypartsaway.
Toremoveafrontfan,dothefollowing:
1.Removeallmediafromthedrivesandturnoffallattacheddevicesandtheserver.Then,disconnectall
powercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedtotheserver.
2.Removetheservercover.See“Removingtheservercover”onpage23.
3.Locatethefrontfanthatyouwanttoremove.See“Locatingservercomponents”onpage14.
Note:Iftwomicroprocessorsareinstalledinyourserver,therearetwofrontfans,oneformicroprocessor
1andtheotherformicroprocessor2.
4.Disconnectthefrontfancablefromthefrontfanconnectoronthesystemboard.See“Locatingpartson
