P28: Acceleration Characteristic
Linear
or
Sin
2
(Ramp)
This
Parameter
defines
the
mode
of
acceleration
and
deceleration.
Sin2-type
acceleration
and
braking
gives
a
smoother
response
and
reduces
wear
on
mechanical
parts,
but
at
the
expense
of
longer
positioning
times
than
with
the
Linear
option.
The
preset
acceleration
rate
refers
to
change
in
velocity
per
unit
time.
Lin
=
linear
change
in
velocity with
constant acceleration.
sin2
=
quadratic
change
in
velocity
with
linear
change
in
acceleration.
