9-6 CHAPTER 9: MALFUNCTIONS
ALPHA 552
Description
This alarm is generated when while the headstock is reversing
and the bar feeder is maintaining the bar stock against the
turret, stop or tool. This problem occurs if the bar stock moves
forward while this operation. This means that the turret, stop
or tool is defective, broken or at the wrong place.
Solutions
Check the status and position of the turret, stop or tool.
AL17: Headstock travel shorter than expected, the pusher lost the
barstock!
Description
The overall part length parameter value is too short or the
pusher did not travel the distance that was programmed in for
the overall part length.
Solutions
Check that the Input Overall Part Length parameter is equal to
the travel of the headstock and not the finished part length.
Check the collet on the pusher. May be broken or worn or the
incorrect size.
Check to see if the pusher got jammed in the channel. Make
sure the front guiding channels are seated correctly in the
channel (maybe chips fell underneath the guiding channels).
If the problem persists please contact LNS SA for further
information.
AL18: The pusher lost The barstock while moving to its home position!
Description
This alarm occurs whenever the PLC does not receive the
signal (I7 – SQ12). The problem occurs if:
the collet is too big,
excessive burr on the bar stock prevents the remnant
insertion in the collet,
any mechanical default prevents the remnant movement,
the switches are defective or misadjusted.
Solutions
Verify the switch SQ1
Verify burr and collet size.
Verify any mechanical stop.
Verify the mis-adjusted switch SQ12.
AL19: Barstock insertion malfunction!
