Installing Mini GBIC (SFP) transceivers (14R and 16Xt only)
The GigaCore 14R and 16Xt comes with up to four SFP cages at the rear of the unit. These cages accept mini GBIC
transceivers. Check our web site for more information about available transceivers.

Insert the transceiver into the SFP cage.
Once properly engaged,
the transceiver can’t be removed

Be aware of the insertion direction:
- Port 13 & 15 must have the bail wire
delatch on the top
- Port 14 & 16 must have the mini-GBIC
transceiver upside-down

Open the bail wire delatch to disengage
and remove the mini-GBIC transceiver.

For any other model of mini-GBIC transceiver, please refer to the transceiver manual.
In order to get best the performances, Luminex recommends the use of the following transceivers:
LU 90 00871 GigaCore 1.25Gd Multi-Mode ber transceiver
LU 90 00872 GigaCore 1.25Gd Single Mode ber transceiver
LU 90 00874 GigaCore 1.25Gd copper RJ45 transceiver
