Workingwithenginesandthenecessaryserviceproductsdoesnotposeanyproblemsprovidedthepeople
entrustedwithoperation,maintenanceandrepairhavebeentrainedaccordinglyandactivelykeeptheirminds
onthejob.
Personnelintrainingorinstructionorwhoareundergoinggeneraleducationarenotallowedtoworkonthe
unitunlesstheyarepermanentlysupervisedbyanexperiencedperson.
Thefollowingsectionsincludesummariesofimportantregulationslistedaccordingtomajortopics.The
intentionistoprovidetheknowledgeneededtoavoidaccidentswhichcouldleadtoinjury,damageand
environmentalpollution.Theyrepresentonlyasmallexcerptfromthewiderangeofaccidentprevention
regulationsandcannotreplacethese.Itgoeswithoutsayingthatallothersafetyregulationsmustbe
followedandthatthecorrespondingactionmustbetaken.

–Donotopenthecoolantcircuitunlesstheengineiscool.
–ThetoolmustbeapprovedbyMANandbeingoodtechnicalcondition.
Suspendedloads
–Donotliftheavypartswithoutassistance.Usesuitabletools.
Procedure:
–Carefullyattachindividualpartsandlargerassembliestoliftingtacklepriortoexchangingthem,inorder
toruleoutanydanger.
–Onlyusesuitableandtechnicallyawlessliftingtackle,andmakesuretheliftingtacklehasanadequate
safeworkingload.
–Onlyeverusethecranehookeyeletsprovidedforconnectingthecraneliftingtacklewhenliftingthe
engine.
–No-oneisallowedtostandunderanenginesuspendedfromacranehook.Keepallliftingtackleingood
condition.
