–Donotholdanypartsofyourbodyunderthejetoffuelwhencheckingtheinjectornozzles.
–Donotinhalefuelvapours,ensureadequateventilation.
Workontheelectricalsystem
–Makesurethebatteriesarermlyconnectedbeforestartingtheengine.
–Donodisconnectthebatterieswhilsttheengineisrunning.
–Donotstarttheengineunlessalltheconnectionstotheelectroniccontrolunitarein
place.
–Donotuseaboost-chargertostarttheengine.Onlyrenderstartingassistancewith
separatebatteries.
–Thebatteryterminalsmustbedisconnectedforboost-chargingthebatteries.Comply
withtheoperatinginstructionsfortheboost-charger.
–Disconnectthebatteriesbeforestartingelectricweldingwork,andconnectboth
cables(+and-)rmlytogether.
–Donotdisconnectorconnecttheconnectionsofthecontrolunitunlesstheelectrical
systemisswitchedoff.
–Takecarewhenconnectingthecontrolunittoitselectricalpowersupply.
Cross-polarity,e.g.causedbyincorrectconnectiontothebatteries,canleadto
irreparabledamagetothecontrolunit.
–Tightenconnectionsontheinjectionsystemtotheprescribedtighteningtorques.
–Removethecontrolunitsifyouareexpectingthemtobeexposedtotemperatures
inexcessof80°C(e.g.dryingoven).
–Onlyusesuitabletestcablesfortakingmeasurementsonplugconnections.
–Telephonesandradiosnotconnectedtoanexternalaerialcanleadtomalfunctions
intheelectronicsandtherebyimpairtheoperationalsafetyoftheengine.
Important!Batterygasesareexplosive!
–Oxyhydrogengasmayforminenclosedbatteryboxes.Takeparticularcareaftertheenginehasbeen
runningforalongtimeorafterchargingthebatterieswithabatterycharger.
–Avoidshortcircuitscausedbypolarityreversalorbyplacingmetalobjects(spanners,molegrips,etc.)on
thebatteryterminals.
–Disconnectthebatteriesorrechargethemevery4weeksiftheengineisnotinuse.
–Whenthebatteriesaredisconnectedthisgasmaybeignitedbysparksproducedbyothercontinuously
operatingconsumersthathavenotbeenshutdown.Ventilatethebatteryboxadequatelybefore
disconnectingthebatteries!
Caution!Batteryacidispoisonousandcorrosive!
–Complywiththemanufacturer’sregulations.
–Wearappropriateprotectiveclothing(gloves)whenhandlingbatteries.
Donottiltbatteries,acidmayleakout.
