Use plenty of oil on the bar and chain when cutting. Never let the chain run
dry on the bar. In abrasive wood, pump the oiler button more frequently.
CHAIN SHARPENING
Chain sharpening is divided into two main steps - sharpening cutter teeth and
l owering depth gauges. The names of the parts of the cutters are shown in
Figure 19.
The use of a McCulloch Depth Gauge

recommended to make chain sharpening
a relatively easy
task. Your McCulloch

clearance to set your depth gauges. If
