out

Do
not
touch
the
cutting
edges
during
this
operation.
LOWERING
DEPTH GAUGES
Depth
gauges
were
set
at
the
factory
for
average
cutting.
Wh
en
cutting
soft
woods
, depth
ga
u
ges
should
be
lowered
for
g
reat
er
clearance.
Try
cutting
with
the
chain
b
efo
r e
lowerin
g
the
depth
gauges
.
If
the
chain
feeds
easily
into
the
ta
d,
le
ave
the
depth
gauges
as
they
are.
Use
a
McCulloch
Depth
Gauge
tool
and
a
flat
file
to
lower
the
depth
gauges.
For
most
types
of
cutting,
whether
soft
or
hard
wood, a
clearance
of 0.025
inch
is
best.
Use
th
e
McCulloch
Depth
Gauge
tool
with
the
0.025
and
0.030
inch
clearances.
Both the McCulloch Depth Gauge tool and the McCulloch File Guide
are

ght
and
convenient
enough
so
they
can
be
carried
in
your
hip
pocket
when
you
are
usin
g
th
e
saw.
