30. Technical Bulletin CPA0126 Data spike & Emperor Lite
A data spike may appear when using an AFG/BFG, Multitest-d/Vortex-d and
Emperor-Lite if the Multitest-d/Vortex-d front panel PCB firmware is pre I: V1.01-03
The cause of the issue has been identified as the test stands front panel PCB and is
corrected by the latest firmware I : V1.01-03 The stands data transmission routines
have been modified to prevent corrupted data packets being sent to Emperor Lite
when used with a gauge.
You can upgrade the stand with the latest firmware (4) using our -d stand
programmer, this is windows based and can be downloaded from a Distributor Zone
link. It requires a USB to serial lead to update the MT-d front panel.
The MT-d motor control PCB firmware does not cause the spike issue but can also
be upgraded using the programmer. This PCB firmware upgrade also requires the
use of a 351-078 MT-d PROGRAMMING CABLE 25 WAY.
The MT-d motor control PCB firmware latest issue is M : V1.01-02, as you know the
test stand firmware is displayed during the start-up sequence (therefore the latest
firmware; I : V1.01-03 M : V1.01-02) so stands that require upgrade are easily
identified.
