18 Flip up the lid of the water reservoir (Fig. A, no. 7) and pull the water
reservoir up and out of the appliance. Fill the water reservoir to the Max.
mark with fresh tap water and reinsert it.
19 Empty the drip tray and the coffee grounds container.
20 Re-insert the drip tray without the coffee grounds container and place the
coffee grounds container under the outlet.
The integrated cleaning program will continue. This process lasts approxima-
tely 5 minutes. Water ows out of the outlet as well as in the interior of the
appliance into the drip tray. Subsequently, the symbol for the drip tray will
be illuminated.
21 Empty the drip tray and the coffee grounds container.
22 Reinsert the drip tray with the coffee grounds container.
The standby symbol is illuminated after a brief heat-up phase.
The appliance is ready for operation.
Integrated decalcifying program
The integrated decalcifying program removes lime scale in the interior of the appli-
ance. It takes a total of approximately 25 minutes. The symbol for decalcifying
ashes during the entire process.
Prerequisite: The appliance is switched off. Remove the Melitta
®
Claris
water lter - if present - from the water reservoir.
Caution!
Execute the integrated decalcifying program every 3 months or when
the symbol for decalcifying is illuminated in the display.
Only use the decalcifying agent from Melitta
®
for automatic coffeema-
kers. This decalcifying agent is precisely matched to the Melitta
®
LAT-
TEA.
Never use vinegar or other decalcifying agents.
Execute the integrated decalcifying program as follows:
1 Take off the milk canister.
