thetransmissiontooverheatandresultin

HillStart
Incasesofahillstart,thestartingaidfunctionofthe
electronicparkingbrake(EPB)canbeused.Withtheseat
beltsafelyfastened,pressthefootbrake,applytheEPB,
andselectthedesiredgear(D/R/S),thenreleasethefoot
brake;presstheacceleratorpedaltoengagevehicledrive,
theEPBwillautomaticallybedeactivated.
ModelsttedwithHillHoldControlcanusethisfunction
toassisthillstarts.Fordetailsonhillholdcontrolsystem,
pleasereferto"FootBrake"in"BrakeSystem"section.

physicallimitations,lossofcontrolwillstilloccur.
DownhillDriving
Repeatedlypressingthebrakepedalmay
resultinbrakeoverheat,therebycausingthe
degradationofbrakeperformanceoreven
brakefailure.
Ifdrivingdownahillforlongdistances,itisadvisedtomove
theDgeartotherightandselecttheTiptronicmode.This
allowsmanualgearselection.Usealowergearselection
toaidtheslowingofthevehicleandthusavoidingover-use
ofthebrakes.Forexample,whendrivingdownthehill
withcontinuouscurves,engageinto2gear;whendriving
downthestraighthill,engageinto3gear.Ifthebrakeforce
ofengineisinsufcient,thespeedisincreased,twin-clutch
sportronictransmissionwillshifttohighgearautomatically
toavoidtheoverrunningoftheengine,atthistime,you
needtopressthebrakepedalimmediatelyandmanually
shifttoappropriatelowgearthroughTiptronicmode.
