Ifyouneedtochangethewheelduringthejourney,choose
asafeplacetostopyourvehicleawayfromthemainroad
ifpossible.Alwaysaskyourpassengerstogetoutofthe
carandwaitinasafeareaawayfromothertrafc.
Switchonhazardwarninglamps.Ifavailable,position
awarningtriangleabout50to150metresbehindyour
vehicletowarnapproachingtrafc.
Beforechangingawheel,ensurethefrontwheelsareinthe
straightaheadposition.Applytheparkingbrakeandplace
thegearshiftleveroftransmissioninNposition(manual
transmission)orPposition(automatictransmission).
Observethefollowingprecautions:
Ensurethejackispositionedonrm,levelground.
Ifthevehiclemustbeparkedonthehill,placechocks
infrontofandbehindother3wheelstopreventthe
vehiclefrommoving.
PositioningtheJack
NEVERworkbeneaththecarwiththejack
astheonlymeansofsupport.Thejackis
designedforwheelreplacementonly!
NEVERjackthecarusinganypositionsother
thanthejackingpoints.Seriousdamageto
thecarcouldresult.
Avoidaccidentalcontactwithanyunderbody
parts,especiallyhotexhaustsystem
components.
Positionthejackonrmlevelgroundunderthejacking
pointnearestthewheeltoberemoved.Notethatthe
rectanglegrooveofthejackmusttintothecorresponding
angingofthebody(seeillustration).
