Operationofstoppingtheengineasfollows:
1Afterbringingthecartoastop,ALWAYSapplythe
parkingbrake;
2T oapplytheparkingbrake;
3PlacetheshiftleverinPposition;
Note:Iftheparkingbrakeisappliedbuttheshift
leverisnotfullyinparking(P)position,thenit
isverydangeroustogetoff.Thecarmaymove
suddenlytoinjureyourselforotherswhenyou
starttheengine.
4Forkeystartvehicle,turnthekeyfromON/RUN
positiontoLOCK/OFFpositiontostoptheengine,
andremovethekey.
5Forpassivestartvehicle,pressENGINESTART/STOP
buttontostoptheengine.
Note:Forpassivestartvehicle,whentheengine
needstobestoppedinemergency,presstheENGINE
START/STOPbuttonformorethan4secondstostop
theengine.
Note:Afterstrenuoustowingordrivingathigh
speed(particularlyinhotweather),itissuggested
toallowtheenginetoidleforafewminutesbefore
switchingoff,whichenablesthecoolingsystemto
workcontinuouslytolowertheenginetemperature.
