What to do if my Miller Digital Elite auto-lens is not switching and stays light?

  If your Miller Motorcycle Accessories auto-lens remains light and doesn't darken during welding or cutting, immediately stop the process. First, try pressing the On/Off button. If the power is already on, check the sensitivity settings and adjust them as needed. Also, ensure that the lens cover and sensors are clean and free from any obstructions. Confirm that the sensors are directly facing the arc; a deviation of 45° or more might prevent the arc light from reaching them.

Also, ensure that the arc sensors aren't blocked from direct arc light. Check the lens cover for dirt and spatter. Increasing the Lens Delay to 0.1 - 0.3 seconds may also help reduce the switching.

  If sections of your Miller Motorcycle Accessories auto-lens aren't darkening, and you see distinct lines separating light and dark areas, stop welding or cutting immediately. The auto-lens may be cracked, possibly from the helmet being dropped. Weld spatter on the auto-lens could also cause cracking. The lens may need replacement.

  Inconsistent or lighter shading on the edges and corners of your Miller Motorcycle Accessories auto-lens in the dark state is due to the angle of view effect. Auto-darkening lenses have an optimum viewing angle of 90° to the lens surface. When the viewing angle varies, lighter areas may appear at the edges and corners. This is normal and not a safety hazard. This effect might be more noticeable when using magnifying lenses.
