3.5.5 Collecting the labeled fraction
The MACS Elution Station enables the elution of the magnetically labeled cells from MACS Columns when
performing a positive selection. It generates a gentle vacuum impulse to elute the cells from the columns.
1 Insert a deep well plate or a MultiMACS 5mL Tube Rack into the base of the MACS Elution Chamber.
2 Place the lid on top of the MACS Elution Chamber. Use lid I for elution into 24-well deep well plates and lid II
for the elution into 5mL tubes.
The lid of the MACS Elution Chamber can be only inserted in one direction.
3 Position the Multi-24 Column Block or the MultiMACS Single-Column Adapter on the lid of the MACS
Elution Chamber. Make sure that the Multi-24 Column Block or the single columns are aligned with the deep
well plate for correct assignment of the samples.
The Multi-24 Column Block and the MultiMACS Single-Column Adpater can be only inserted in one
direction.
