To
the
front
end
of
injection pump
is
attached an automatic timer
or
a device that
changes
the
phase
of
the
pump camshaft with its driving shaft according
to
fluctuation
of
the
engine speed so as
to
provide the fittest injection timing. The design
is
such
that
automatically puts ahead
the
injection timing with a rise
of
the
engine speed and regards
the
injection with its drop.

shows
the
timer
in
disassembled condition. Each
of
two
flyweights has a
hole by which it
is
supported on flyweight holder. On
it
is
made a curved surface
designed
to
help it develop
the
required efficiency. Bearing pins fixed on
the
holder
have
one
of
the
seats
for
timer springs.
