Power steering system
E00607400156
When the engine is stopped, the power steering system will not
function and it will require greater manual effort to operate the
steering wheel. Keep this in mind in particular when towing the
vehicle. Never turn off the engine while driving.
Periodically check the power steering fluid level.
Active stability control (ASC)*
E00616700038
The active stability control (ASC) takes overall control of the
anti-lock brake system, traction control function and stability
control function to help maintain the vehicle’s control and trac-
tion. Please read this section in conjunction with the page on
the anti-lock brake system, traction control function and stabil-
ity control function.

CAUTION
!
● Do not hold the steering wheel in the fully turned
position (either left or right), for longer than 10 sec-
onds. This can cause damage to the power steering
system.
CAUTION
!
● Do not over-rely on the ASC. Even the ASC cannot
prevent the nautral laws of physics from acting on
the vehicle.
This system, like any other system, has limits and
cannot help you to maintain traction and control of
the vehicle in all circumstances. Reckless driving
can lead to accidents. It is the driver’s responsibility
to drive carefully. This means into account the traf-
fic, road and environmental conditions.
● Be sure to use the same specified type and size of
tyre on all 4 wheels. Otherwise, the ASC may not
work properly.
● Do not install commercially available limited slip
differential (LSD) on your vehicle. The ASC may
stop functioning properly.
