Drain Trough and Heater
The drain trough is located below the
evaporator
at the top of the freezer
compartment. The drain trough heater is
applied to the bottom of the drain trough
with adhesive
backed aluminum foil.
For access to the drain trough heater;
remove the ice service shelf if a dispenser
model, icemaker, light shield (if a
non-dispenser model),
plenum, evaporator
fan diffuser, foam housing and drain
trough.
The electrical connections are
located
behind the evaporator in the rear
of the freezer
compartment.
To replace the drain trough heater, peel
the aluminum foil from the bottom of the
drain trough.
Defrost Heater
The defrost heater is secured to the front
and left side of the evaporator with
brackets at each end.
For access to the defrost heater; it is
necessary to go through the same procedure
for access to the drain trough heater.
Then
grasp the evaporator and move it to the
left to disengage the upper bracket key
slot from the holding screw. The
evaporator will drop down for access to the
defrost heater.
Reassemble in reverse
order.

NOTE: Care should be taken when dismounting the evaporator. Avoid excessive
movement of the evaporator as much as possible to prevent breaking the capillary or
the suction tube.
Defrost Thermostat
The defrost thermostat is mounted to the
right rear of the evaporator.
For access
to the thermostat; the ice service shelf,
on dispenser models, the icemaker, light
shield on dispenser models, plenum, and fan
diffuser panel must be removed. Then, to
remove the thermostat; follow the
instructions
on page 11 for removing the
Fan Delay Thermostat.
