Fill
Tube
Heater
A
fill
tube heater has
been
installed
on
this
model
to prevent
fill
tube
icing.
The
heater
(rated
approx. 4 watts)
is
positioned near the top of the
aluminum
fill
tube
and
is
connected in
parallel
with
the
defrost
heater
and
the drain trough
heater.
Accordingly, the heater
is
only
energized
when
the
refrigerator
is
in
defrost.
To
access the
fill
tube heater,
remove
the
ice bucket,
and
icemaker.
To
access the
fill
tube heater wires, the
plenum
must
be
removed.
Water
Valve
The
water valve
is
mounted
behind the base
panel,
on
the bottom
of
the
refrigerator.
A
recessed area
has
been
provided in the case
bottom
to
accommodate
the valve. A metal
cover encloses the water valve
and
wiring
harness.
The
wiring harness lead wires
have
push-on terminals
that
connect to the
water valve solenoid terminals. A 1/4-inch
copper tubing stub
is
provided
on
initial
installation
from
the
inlet
of the valve
for connection
to
a copper water supply
line.
For
access to the water valve,
remove
the
base panel
and
remove
the metal cover.
Cover
is
secured with
one
screw in the
front
and
two
tabs in the
rear.
To
remove
the water valve, disconnect the
wiring leads, water supply
line,
and
the
fill
tubing connection.
Then
remove
the
screw
from
the valve bracket.
NOTE:
On
dispenser
models
the
water
dispenser
fill
tube
and
wiring
may
be
attached
to
the water valve cover.
