Preparation
This section is an overview of the chipping process. It is
mandatory that all personnel handling, operating, and
maintaining this machine read the manual completely and
be properly trained on its use. Operators should also review
the manual on a regular basis. Specic information on
safety, function, use, and maintenance of a machine feature
is also located in the Features and Function section.
Preparation and Set-up
Preparation is the cornerstone for safe, efcient, operation of the chipper.
The operator must conduct all safety measures, wear proper protective gear, prepare the machine for operation, and understand the process of
chipping wood as described in this manual.
However, before any chipping can begin, there are three important areas to inspect, set-up, and prepare each time you use the chipper. They are;
the work site, the brush, and the chipper.
Work Site Preparation
• Clear objects containing metal, stones, etc. that may damage the machine.
• Clear any objects that may trip or entangle the operator.
• Check that the area is clear of utility and power lines.
• Be sure the area is well lit with good ventilation (when indoors).
• Set-up a sufcient space to work in.
• Designate an area for the brush pile and chipped wood.
