ROUTINE MAINTENANCE
BATTERIES
The batteries are located near the engine. Two 12 volt batteries are provided to make 24 volts.
SERVICING BATTERIES
1� Keep battery and battery box clean. Keep all connections clean and tight. Remove all corrosion and wash terminal with
a solution of baking soda and water.
2� Keep battery fully charged, especially during cold weather. Batteries are low maintenance, but not maintenance free.
Add electrolyte as necessary.
NOTE: Never attempt to charge a frozen battery. Allow battery to warm to 60° F (15.5° C) before placing on charge.
3� When recharging battery, avoid sparks by turning off charger before making connections or disconnections. Disconnect
both battery terminals before using a charger.
CAUTION: Batteries generate explosive gases� Keep sparks, flames, burning cigarettes or other ignition
sources away at all times� Always wear safety goggles or glasses to protect your eyes when working near
batteries�
