ROUTINE MAINTENANCE
TIGHTENING THE INFEED BED CHAIN DRIVE
Loosen four (4) bolts on the hydraulic motor foot mount. Slide motor back un-
til chain has between 1/8 In to 3/16 In (3,175 mm to 4,76 mm) of slack. Check
sprocket to chain alignment, make sure the motor is perpendicular to the chain.
Tighten foot mount bolts
(refer to torque chart.)
NOTE: Lubricate all chains daily. When proper maintenance schedules are kept,
down time and replacement parts can be cut to a minimum.
TIGHTENING THE INFEED BED CHAIN
The infeed bed chain must be kept tight enough so as it leaves the idler (rear)
sprocket it doesn't buckle. If the bed chain is too loose, it will make a clunking
noise as each section passes over the sprocket. increasing the wear on the drive
and idler sprockets.
NOTE: You must retention the bed chain in the rst 20 hrs of operation to the
correct torque. Then recheck every 40 hrs until the chain has seated for initial
break-in. Correct chain tension of 30 ft lbs will extend the life of the bed chain.
1 To adjust the bed chain, loosen the four bearing bolts on the idler sprocket
shaft and then tighten puller bolts. Always keep the idler sprocket even on
both ends by counting revolutions of the puller bolt.
Example - 2 1/2 turns on left side, 2 1/2 turns on right side. When chain is prop-
erly adjusted, retighten bolts on idler sprocket (refer to torque chart.)
TO ACCESS THE INFEED DRIVE FOR CLEANING
