ROUTINE MAINTENANCE
CHANGING STANDARD BABBITTED CHIPPER KNIVES CON'T
7� Each time chipper knives are changed, counter knives must be inspected. If
worn they must be sharpened and babbitted. If they are too worn to be
sharpened and babbitted they must be replaced.

9� Place newly sharpened knives onto the counter knives in the holder pocket.
Keep knives in sets at all times.
10� Replace knife clamp
11� Apply a coating of anti seize to the knife bolts and tighten to 560 ft/lbs.
12� Rotate drum to the next set of pockets.
13� Repeat Steps 4-10 for each pocket.
14� Once all knives have been changed, rotate drum to check for clearance.
15� Inspect anvil clearance (see inspecting anvil clearance.)
16� Close and bolt hood before start-up.
